Join the solicitor general of Texas and Supreme Court experts from Alliance Defending Freedom, the American Civil Liberties Union, and Jones Day for Washington, D.C.’s opening conversation examining the far-reaching free speech and expression implications of Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission and the constitutional significance of other high-profile cases scheduled or likely to be scheduled for argument this fall. The panel will also discuss pending U.S. Supreme Court cert petitions like National Institute of Family and Life Advocates v. Becerra, which asks if a state can force pro-life pregnancy centers to promote abortion, and Brewer v. Arizona Dream Act Coalition, which asks whether states can deny drivers’ licenses to Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals recipients. Reuters Supreme Court Correspondent Lawrence Hurley will moderate the discussion, which will conclude with time for audience Q&A with the panelists.
